A hands-on astronomy and science museum where you can encounter wonder, curiosity, and discovery.

Last update :

An interactive astronomy and science facility built around the concept of “Let’s discover the big something that supports us.” With space, the sea, and nature as its three themes, it offers a place where both children and adults can learn while having fun.

At the planetarium, renovated in 2024, the latest system makes the stars shine even brighter and realistically recreates the vastness of space. A wide range of programs are shown, including live commentary as well as programs for kids, families, and adults, making it popular with visitors of all ages.

The observatory is equipped with one of the largest 80 cm aperture telescopes in the Tokai region, and also hosts daytime stargazing and nighttime star-viewing events on weekends and holidays. With guidance from staff, visitors can observe the moon, planets, and nebulae up close. Other highlights include hands-on science exhibits popular with children and an observation space with spectacular views of Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay.

Set in Yaizu, where the sea meets the sky, this is a place where you can discover the fun of science and a curiosity about space. It’s a perfect spot for families looking to enjoy sightseeing and learning together.
