JR Kusatsu Station

A major transportation hub in southern Shiga Prefecture served by the JR Biwako and Kusatsu lines. Conveniently located about 20 minutes from JR Kyoto Station and about 50 minutes from JR Osaka Station, Kusatsu Station is known as one of the busiest stations in the prefecture.

The station is accessible to all and equipped with escalators and elevators for a comfortable experience. Local and highway buses depart from in front of the station, providing convenient access throughout the city and to surrounding areas. A bicycle rental service is also available, making the station a convenient base for exploring historical sites such as the Kusatsu-juku Honjin and the city center.
