Yamanashi Prefectural Atagoyama Children's Land

This park stretches across Mt. Atagoyama at elevations of approximately 340–550 m. Its expansive grounds allow children and adults alike to get active while experiencing the natural surroundings.
The Open Plaza, which overlooks central Kofu, features play equipment that makes use of the terrain, including a large combination play structure and a bouncy dome. It also offers inclusive play equipment designed for everyone to use safely, providing a variety of ways to play for different ages and fitness levels. In summer, visitors can play in the water at Lion Pond, while children through second grade can ride hand-powered boats. A pool filled with fallen leaves is set up from fall through winter, offering different activities with each season.
Visitors can also try traditional games with kendama, bamboo stilts, hula hoops, and more. On weekends, holidays, and during extended school breaks in spring, summer, and winter, the Specialty Bicycle Plaza opens with a variety of unusual bicycles available to ride free of charge.
The grounds also include a campground for educational groups and families (advance reservations required; closed through March 2028) and the Yamanashi Prefectural Science Center, making it an ideal recreational destination for families.
