Walking the ancient Kumano Kodo trail was really comfortable and not as tough as I expected. Restrooms are available and very clean along the way. The whole journey was fantastic!

While walking along the Kumano Kodo, I came across lots of places called 'Oji.' Apparently, these were rest spots for the imperial family and nobles who used to come here to visit the shrines.
