This is one of the most famous scenic spots on Lake Biwa, as well as it has been known as “Katata-no-rakugan (wild geese returning home at Katata)”, one of the eight scenic views of Omi.

You have to change your shoes before entering the temple. The main deities here are Kannon and Yakushi Buddha. The temple looks like it's floating on the water—no wonder it's considered one of the Eight Views of Omi.
