Aokishofuan's “Milk Manju Tsukigesho” is a famous souvenir from Osaka. I was planning to buy some as gifts on this trip, but when I arrived, the store wasn't open yet, so I had to pass it by!
I heard that Tsukigesho is a soft Japanese manju filled with a milky, buttery filling. It's sweet and has a very delicate texture—it sounds delicious just hearing about it.
Tsukigesho is one Osaka souvenir I'd buy again. The outside is soft, and the filling has a rich milky flavor. It's also pretty good chilled. It's not a fancy dessert, but it's simple and doesn't get old, making it perfect for taking a box back to Taiwan and enjoying over time.
The milky flavor is really nice but not heavy at all.
It goes great with either tea or coffee.
The outer layer is soft, and the white bean paste mixed with milk inside is surprisingly a perfect match.
