Kumamon Square is the most infectiously cheerful place in the entire city, and I recommend stopping by during your trip.

The most anticipated attraction is the meet-and-greet performance on holidays. As soon as the Manager appears, he waves his arms, dances around, and gives it his all. His adorably goofy yet energetic interactions instantly fill the whole venue with laughter and are incredibly uplifting. Inside, there is also a dazzling selection of exclusive merchandise and the Manager’s office, with everything from plush toys and stationery to souvenirs. Even if you weren’t a fan before, it’s hard not to be won over by this pure, enthusiastic, and immersive atmosphere of joy—and to happily take a few items home with you.

Are you ready for a meet-and-greet with Mayor Kumamon? When you visit Kumamoto, don’t forget to stop by Kumamon Square. Seeing Kumamon in person for the first time was really fun. His round figure and lively interactions made me laugh nonstop. The merchandise is also a bottomless pit—once you fall in, it’s hard to climb back out!

When traveling to Kumamoto in Kyushu this time, I couldn't miss Kumamon Square, home base of the world's busiest and incredibly popular mascot! As soon as I reached the entrance and saw all the fans and the adorable manager cutouts, I instantly felt like a kid again, and my excitement went through the roof.

This isn't just Kumamon's official office, but also a shrine for fans from around the world. Inside, besides the warm and cute office desk area, the most irresistible part is the huge selection of exclusive Kumamon merchandise all around! From plush toys in all kinds of designs, stationery, and household goods to exclusive souvenirs available only here, everything was so cute that I wanted to put it all in my shopping basket.

If you time your visit right, you may even be lucky enough to attend the manager's meet-and-greet, the Kuma Stage. Watching Kumamon sway his round body while showing off surprisingly nimble, funny dance moves and interacting with the audience was almost unbearably cute. The laughter and cheers from adults and children hardly stopped.

I highly recommend adding Kumamon Square to your itinerary when visiting Kumamoto so you can experience this super-cute manager's unique charm in person. You're guaranteed to be in a good mood for the rest of the day!

When you visit Kumamon Square, you have to stop by the manager’s office for a photo, sit at his desk, and check out his trophies and “workday” routine. If you happen to catch Kumamon on duty, you can watch him perform up close and take photos together. The cuteness level is off the charts!

And don’t forget to browse the limited-edition merch at the end. You may say you’re only buying one thing, but you’ll probably walk out with a big bag.
