Oirase Stream truly deserves to be called one of the most unforgettable natural sights in the Tohoku region. As you walk along the stream, the clear water winds through the dense forest, while tall trees on both sides form a natural tunnel. Sunlight filters through the treetops, and the entire forest is filled with a peaceful, soothing atmosphere.

Oirase Stream has a different kind of beauty in every season, and this time we were especially lucky to visit during the fall foliage season. Green, yellow, orange, and red blended together alongside the murmuring stream and old-growth forest, creating scenery as beautiful as a painting.

There’s no need to seek out specific sights. Just walk slowly along the stream, and there’s scenery everywhere. Listening to the sound of the water while enjoying the fall colors really makes you not want to leave.

Oirase Stream in fresh spring greenery. We visited in May and stayed at the Oirase Keiryu Hotel for three days and two nights. The temperature was very comfortable, and the air was full of negative ions and phytoncides. It was refreshing and uplifting. Japan in every season.

Oirase Stream is beautiful even without the fall foliage. It's a great place to escape the summer heat, with beautiful scenery all along the walking trail. It's well worth a visit, and the air here feels especially fresh. It's definitely a wonderful spot in Tohoku that shouldn't be missed.

Walking slowly along the stream, with the sound of flowing water in your ears and golden maple leaves covering the mountains in front of you, every scene looked like a postcard as sunlight filtered through the forest.
Of all the places on this trip, Oirase Stream was my favorite. It really makes you want to experience every season here: the fresh green of spring, the cool air of summer, the red maples of fall, and the snowy scenery of winter. I hope I can come back someday to enjoy its beauty in a different season.
