My first proper visit to Ishigakijima, I loved it, we were fortunate enough to have really hot weather that entire time. We hired a car and took advantage of this site's recommendations so for 2 full days we crossed the island enjoying the magnificent blue sky and crystal-clear waters. The lifestyle here is very slow and laid back, no-one rushes around here, I got to eat lots of sashimi, which was of the highest grade and we bought from the supermarket, we also shopped at a local farmers market and bought pineapple, guava and hot chilies. So if you're unsure if you should visit Ishigaki or not let me assure you of a good time and probably some well-deserved rest.

What I liked most about Ishigaki Island was its relaxed and comfortable pace. The deep blue sea, lush natural scenery, and distinctive Okinawan island culture create a strong tropical atmosphere everywhere you go.

You can also try authentic local specialties such as Ishigaki beef and seafood, strolling around at your own pace and experiencing the rhythm of island life. There isn't much hustle and bustle, just sunshine, sea breezes, and beautiful scenery.

Ever since Nannujima Ishigaki Airport (New Ishigaki Airport) opened, the whole space has felt like a huge upgrade.
Compared with the old airport, which felt crowded and retro, the new airport’s high ceilings, bright interior, and open modern design instantly put you in a relaxed vacation mood as soon as you land.

Super chill! The ocean is so blue and the beaches are really clean. The whole island just has this super relaxing vacation vibe.

Diving, snorkeling, or just watching the sunset—everything is gorgeous here. The locals are really friendly, too.

It's quieter than Okinawa's main island, so it's perfect if you want to get away from the city and just recharge!

This place has stunning blue waters, white sandy beaches, and majestic mountains. If you climb up to the island's observation deck, you get an amazing view of the whole island.

There are lots of small islands around Ishigaki Island, some big and some small~ There are plenty of activities and sightseeing spots, too. Just rent a bike and cruise along the tree-lined roads—it's super easy to get around the island.
