When visiting Lake Towada, besides enjoying the beautiful lake and mountain scenery, the Statue of Maidens is also a classic attraction not to be missed. This statue was the final work of Japanese poet and sculptor Kotaro Takamura, and it has now become an important symbol of Lake Towada. The two maidens stand quietly by the lakeshore, complemented by the forest and lake scenery behind them, creating a peaceful and elegant atmosphere.

I really recommend visiting during the fall foliage season! Take a leisurely stroll along the lakeside path next to the Statue of Maidens, surrounded on both sides by autumn colors, with golden yellow, orange-red, and green weaving together into a natural work of art. With the lake breeze blowing and views of Lake Towada along the way, there’s no need to rush. Just walking at a relaxed pace like this feels wonderful.
