The most obvious issue is that the resort relies too much on the large gondola. When it's crowded on holidays, if you miss one, you have to keep waiting, which can easily disrupt your skiing rhythm. This feels more like a place you visit specifically to “ski seriously.” If you want a resort with lots of trail options and facilities where you can take your time and spend the whole day, Hakkaisan may not be the best choice.

Hakkaisan isn't the kind of ski resort where you come for a vacation and take a few leisurely runs. It's better suited for people who really enjoy skiing and want to challenge themselves. The large cable car holds up to 81 people and takes you directly to the summit in about 7 minutes, so it's fast and convenient. Once you're up there, you can head straight down the mountain or practice your skills on runs of different difficulty levels. You don't have to keep transferring between several lifts, which is really satisfying for anyone serious about skiing.

Heavy snow was falling so hard that visibility was extremely poor. The weather wasn’t exactly ideal, but for skiers who enjoy challenging snow conditions, it actually made for an unforgettable experience.
