When it comes to Kagoshima cuisine, high-quality black pork is definitely near the top of the list! The meat is flavorful, tender, and has almost none of that unpleasant porky smell. Whether served as shabu-shabu or tonkatsu, each has its own appeal. Kagoshima Kurokatsutei is a tonkatsu restaurant I want to revisit every time I go to Kagoshima. The breading is golden and crispy, and when you cut into it, you can see the thick piece of pork inside. It's tender and juicy, and paired with refreshing shredded cabbage and the house sauce, the savory flavor makes it hard to stop eating, and even the rice tastes especially good with it! I originally thought I could only enjoy this familiar taste in Kagoshima, but now there's also a chance to try it in Tokyo, giving me another option whenever I miss black pork.
