Kawa no Soba

After drinking around Nakasu, Fukuoka, Kawa no Soba is a place you will want to stop by. Located along the Nakagawa River, this restaurant works both as a place for chuka soba, a light ramen-style noodle dish, and as an izakaya-style spot, making it a popular choice for ending the night. It has counter seats that are easy to use even when visiting alone, as well as relaxed table seating, making it convenient as a second or third stop.

I was hoping this bowl of ramen would wow me, but the broth was fairly ordinary and not very memorable. The chashu was tender and the noodles had a nice chew, so it was still a solid bowl overall—just not quite as impressive as the online reviews made it sound.

Built near the Toyosaki Seaside Park Beach, Okinawa's first outlet mall is named "Ashibinaa," which means "playground" in Okinawan language, symbolizing a gathering place for people of all generations.

There are quite a few Okinawa-exclusive products and souvenir shops, so it’s really convenient if you want to buy clothes, shoes, and gifts all in one place. Many brands have seasonal discounts, and when you catch a sale, the deals are really worth it.

Tsuruga Station

A gateway to the Hokuriku region served by four lines: the Hokuriku Shinkansen, Hokuriku Main Line, Obama Line, and Hapi-line Fukui Line. The Hokuriku Shinkansen, which previously terminated at Kanazawa, was extended to Tsuruga Station in spring 2024, and now serves as the line's terminal station.

It feels very clean and comfortable, with a pretty modern design while still keeping some local character. The station isn’t big, and the layout is very easy to follow, so it’s hard to get lost.

There’s a bus stop and taxi area right outside, which makes getting around really convenient. There are also a few restaurants and souvenir shops nearby where you can buy local dried seafood or sweets.

If you come in winter, you’ll see lots of travelers transferring here on their way to go skiing or visit hot springs, and the overall atmosphere feels very relaxed. If you’re heading to Fukui or the Lake Biwa area, this is a great stopover point.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, located in Shinjuku, is Tokyo’s centralized administration complex, comprised of three buildings: the First Main Office Building, the Second Main Office Building, and the Metropolitan Assembly Building. The First Main Office Building is home to a 45th floor Observation Deck, which is accessible by dedicated elevator on the 1st floor. In just 55 seconds the dedicated elevator will whisk you into the skies, to a height of 202 meters above ground and the sprawling view of Tokyo below.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Observation Deck feels like a bit of a hidden gem. There aren't too many tourists, so you don't have to wait long. The view is fantastic—perfect if you want to avoid the crowds.

Ryusei-no-Taki Falls・Ginga-no-Taki Falls

The Ishikari River is a first-class river that flows through the central-western part of Hokkaido and empties into the Sea of Japan. Sounkyo, located along the Ishikari River, has a large gorge with many waterfalls falling from the cliffs over a distance of 24 kilometers.　Two of the most beautiful waterfalls are "Ryusei-no-Taki Falls・Ginga-no-Taki Falls."
