    I really liked the decor and the vibe here. Everyone was quietly enjoying their meal, and even when people talked, they kept their voices down. I ordered the tempura soba, and the portion was filling without being expensive.

  • The bus drops you off right at Taisho Pond. You can walk to Kamikochi from here—either along the river or through the forest trail. Every route is a great walking path.

  • I visited right when the autumn leaves were at their peak. The view of the whole gorge from the suspension bridge is just the best spot to take it all in.

  • This is a spot both kids and adults love to visit.

  • If you come on a weekday and avoid holidays, there are barely any crowds. No admission ticket needed either. Just pay for the rides you want to try!

  • The water slides here are especially thrilling and super fun.
