Kamitori, Kumamoto City Central Shopping Arcade

This shopping arcade is 600 meters long and 11 meters wide, with Ipe wood decking laid down the center of the walkway for a gentle, comfortable stroll. Surrounded by cultural attractions such as Kumamoto Castle, the Prefectural Museum of Art, the Prefectural Traditional Crafts Center, and the Contemporary Art Museum Kumamoto, it is a popular stop for visitors exploring Kumamoto.

One of the liveliest spots in Kumamoto. Food, shopping, and plenty to browse—all in one place.
The shopping arcade is super long and very comfortable to walk through, and the roof is a huge plus when it rains.

Such a great vibe! The raw oysters are super fresh, and the smoked dishes are really flavorful without being too salty. They pair perfectly with drinks. The lighting inside is a bit dim, but it feels classy—perfect for a casual drink, a chat, or even a date. Overall, an awesome experience!

Mount Miune

A mountain with an elevation of 1,235 m that straddles Mitsue Village in eastern Nara Prefecture and Matsusaka City and Tsu City in Mie Prefecture. Designated as part of Murou Akame Aoyama Quasi-National Park and counted among Japan’s 300 Famous Mountains, it offers nature that changes beautifully with the seasons. Hacchodaira, a plain-like area spreading out just below the summit on the Mie side, is a popular scenic viewpoint.

The air here is super fresh, and the whole place feels so მშვიდ and serene. The hike up is a little challenging, but the views are absolutely worth it.
The forest along the way is really dense, so it stays cool in the summer. In the fall, you get to see the mountains covered in red leaves. So beautiful~

Hakodate Bugyosho

Hakodate Magistrate’s Office faithfully recreates the Edo Shognate’s security base around Japan’s northern territory. It is built at the original location in the former Goryokaku (the star-shaped fort), using as much similar skills and provisions as those in the Edo Period, such as pine beams, Bingo tatami mats or sliding doors with hand-made paper.

Goryokaku Tower

Matsumoto Castle was built between the years 1593 and 1594. It is one of the oldest of the still-standing “gojuu-rokkai” (five roofs, six stories) structures in Japan, and it has been registered as a national treasure.

Magome Inn

“Nakasendo” is one of the five highways that were constructed during the Edo period to connect Kyoto and Edo. Magome Inn is the 43rd post town on the Nakasendo. It is an inn town along a slope paved with stone pavement, and you can feel the atmosphere of the Edo period. Both sides of the road are lined with stores selling freshly baked gohei-mochi (rice cakes), oyaki (wheat cakes), etc., where you can enjoy eating and strolling.

This 600-meter-long stone-paved street is a historic old town, rated with one Michelin star along with Tsumago-juku. It's an important area for the preservation of traditional Japanese architecture.

Sarutahiko Shrine

Sarutahiko Shrine enshrines Sarutahiko Ookami, the God who appears at the beginning of things and guides everything in the right direction. The Kojiki (Record of Ancient Matters) and Nihonshoki (Chronicles of Japan) tell us that he "enlightened the first heavenly grandson of the nation to this land." The votive tablet (Ema) depicts the "Michibiki no Mai (Dance of Michibiki)'' unique to the Sarutahiko Shrine, guiding wishes in the right direction.
