Azabudai Hills
Azabudai Hills, is the megaplex hub that opened in Azabu in November 2023 with some 150 shops for fashion, culture, and unbeatable food across its floors. The central plaza and halls throughout feature fresh greenery and wide open, luxe vibes to bring you the best of dining and shopping.
The night view here is definitely worth recommending. Visiting the observation deck at dusk feels pretty romantic.
Shimabara Hibariyama Flower Park
A flower park created through collaboration between Shimabara City and private partners on erosion control land designated after the eruption disaster of Mt. Unzen Fugendake. Opened in 2012, it welcomes visitors with colorful flower fields spreading out against the backdrop of Mt. Heisei-Shinzan. In spring, cherry blossoms, weeping cherry blossoms, and Approx. 10 million rapeseed blossoms begin to bloom around late March. Azaleas appear in mid-April, and mixed flowers color the vast grounds from around early May to around late May.
There are different flowers to see all year round, and the tulips and cherry blossoms in spring are especially spectacular. It’s a perfect place for photos. The park is clean and not crowded, so it’s really pleasant to walk around, and you can even see Mt. Unzen in the background. The overall atmosphere is super relaxing, and it’s a wonderful place to enjoy the flowers.
AEON MALL Makuhari New City
This mall consists of 4 sections: Grand, Family, Active, and Pet, with a total floor area of around 402,000 square meters and about 350 specialty stores and an AEON STYLE supermarket. You can enjoy everything from shopping to entertainment.
The Grand Mall, Family Mall, Active Mall, and Pet Mall each offer different shopping and entertainment options to meet everyone's needs.
MITSUI OUTLET PARK KURASHIKI
Located in "Makuhari New City," where commercial facilities, offices, and hotels such as "Makuhari Messe" and "ZOZO Marine Stadium" are situated. This outlet mall is just a 1-minute walk from "Kaihin-Makuhari Station" on the JR Keiyo Line. It originally opened in October 2000 as "Garden Walk Makuhari" and changed its name to "Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari" in 2008.
It's just a few steps from Kaihin-Makuhari Station on the JR Keiyo Line, so getting here is super convenient.
Ameyoko Shopping Street
The Ameyoko Shopping Street, affectionately known as "Ameyoko," stretches approximately 500m between JR Ueno Station and JR Okachimachi Station, with around 400 shops lining the street. It features a variety of businesses, including food and confectionery, clothing, general goods, and jewelry stores.
Whether you're looking for affordable deals or want to experience the vibe of a traditional Japanese market, Ameyoko is a spot you definitely shouldn't miss.
Nikko Toshogu
Nikko Toshogu is a shrine dedicated to the Edo shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa. It is the most visited spot within the World Heritage Site “Shrines and Temples of Nikko,” and here you can see 55 exceptional buildings, including 8 that have been designated as national treasures and 34 that have been designated as Important Cultural Properties.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site in Japan—definitely worth spending a whole day exploring at a relaxed pace.
Meiji Jingu Gaien (Outer Garden)
Meiji Jingu Gaien, the outer park of Meiji Shrine, was established in 1926. It features the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery and various sports facilities, such as the Meiji Jingu Stadium, where you can enjoy nature throughout the four seasons.
The autumn season here is beautiful. It's a perfect time to visit.
Tokyo Disneyland
Known and loved as the “kingdom of dreams and magic”, this full-scale themepark is just a 15 min. train ride from Tokyo Station.
The cheerful atmosphere at Disneyland is so contagious—it really spreads to everyone there.
Universal Studios Japan
Universal Studios Japan, nicknamed “USJ”, is a large-scale theme park with entertainment for everyone, both children and adults alike. The park is separated into different areas, each with a different theme from popular titles across the world.
Since it started pouring rain, we had to stick to the indoor attractions first.
Ureshino Onsen
Hizen Fudoki, the oldest chronicle of the land of Hizen, describes the town as having "a hot spring in the eastern part of the city, which heals people from illnesses. During the Edo period, Ureshino was a busy Inn-filled town along the Nagasaki Kaido. In its current state, the hot spring is one of the three “Best Hot Springs for a Beautiful Skin” alongside Hinokami Hot Springs in Shimane prefecture, and Kitsuregawa Hot Springs in Tochigi prefecture.
There are free foot baths right along the street, and after that, you can grab some ice cream 🥰
