Ikedayama Park
A scenic park that opened in 1985, developed as a ward park on the former site of a suburban residence of the Ikeda clan of the Okayama Domain (Bizen Province) in the early Edo period. This Japanese strolling garden features a pond and makes the most of its varied terrain, with beautiful views from a hilltop gazebo. With wooded areas and a waterfall, it has also gained attention in recent years as a power spot.
The hydrangeas in the garden are seriously gorgeous!
Kenroku-en
Kenroku-en was founded and developed for about 180 years by the Maeda clan lord in Kaga, which is a strolling-style landscape garden and one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan.
It's no exaggeration to call this the top of Japan's three great gardens. You can always see staff carefully tending to the plants, and everything is really well maintained.
Shimoda Park
With one sweep of the eye, take in the view of Shimoda’s streets and port from Shimoda Park. Tsutsuji azaleas bloom in the spring, hydrangeas blossom in early summer, and camellias reach full bloom in the winter.
The hydrangeas are in full bloom and look gorgeous. Plus, the park is free to enter, so it's definitely worth a visit.
