Ibe Townscape
A town famous as a production area for Bizen ware, counted among Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns. Around JR Ibe Station, traditional kilns, workshops, and galleries lined with pottery pieces are clustered together, making it fun to stroll around the town.
It has a real rural Japan feel. The streets are quiet, and the pottery atmosphere is really strong. There are Bizen ware shops all along the way, and it’s fun to watch people making pottery and browse the pieces. Great for people who like to take it slow and enjoy handmade crafts and traditional culture.
