Tokyo Toy Museum

This museum, with its theme of “Play, Create, and Meet”, is a great place for kids of all ages to play with toys. The former Yotsuya Fourth Elementary School was built before WWII and renovated with a lot of domestic wood to create a warm and welcoming space.

[Closed Down]North Safari Sapporo

Tucked in deep Hokkaido, near Jozankei, “North Safari Sapporo” is Hokkaido’s first hands-on petting zoo. With approximately 140 species of animals, it is famous by guests of many generations as they enjoy petting and feeding. It is also popular as Japan’s first animal glamping venue.

Rose Garden (Ina town organization Enforcement Memorial park)

Ina town organization Enforcement Memorial park hosts Saitama’s largest rose garden. On the spacious 1.4 hectare premises, 400 species and 5000 plants of roses grow. Throughout the year, they are carefully cultivated and transplanted.

Kinosaki Onsen

This traditional hot spring resort was loved by great writers such as Naoya Shiga and Toson Shimazaki, and has a history of over 1,300 years. There are 6 out-spa baths (communal baths) within a 20-minute walking distance, and visitors can enjoy visiting them while walking along the elegant streets.

Ako Onsen

Located on a hill in Ako Misaki facing the Harimanada Sea, Ako Onsen boasts a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea. The hot spring opened in 1969 (Showa 44), which is relatively new, and in 2000, a new source was also excavated from 1,600 m underground.

Tokyo State Guest House

Japan’s only Neo-Baroque style palace architecture, built in 1909 as a home (Togu Gosho) for Prince Haru-no-Miya Yoshihito who became the emperor in the Taisho Period. After WWII when Japan returned to the international society, many foreign dignitaries began visiting and this home went through a massive renovation to become Geihinkan.

Yushima Seido

Yushima Seido is founded in 1690 by the fifth Shogun, Tsunayoshi Tokugawa, as a mausoleum enshrining Confucius, a Chinese Confucian scholar and a place for prosperity of Confucianism. The most famous Confucius’s mausoleum currently remaining in Japan was designated as a National historic site in 1922.

Cosmo Planetarium Shibuya

This planetarium is a 5-minute-walk away from JR Shibuya Station’s west exit within the Shibuya Cultural Center Owada. The dome, 17m in diameter, reflects marvelous and realistic images of starry night and the space. Although it is an urban planetarium well-equipped, the admission fee is reasonable, 600 yen for an adult.

Tottori Nijisseiki Pear Museum acepack Nashikkokan

This is the only museum in Japan specialized in pears which Tottori is famous for. Displays on pears, taste comparison, pear desserts, sales of souvenirs, hands-on experience of cultivating pears, and there are other ways to get to know pears.

Kamijima Island Scooter Tours

Hop on the cute 50cc scooter “Yamaha Vino” and go on the Yumeshima Kaido coastal road. It connects Yuge Island, Sashima Island, Ikina Island, Iwagi Island, where there is no traffic light or toll and you can ride non-stop. The three cable-stayed bridges to connect the four islands are all white and elegant. Cruising on the bridges feels uplifting as if flying over the dazzling ocean and islands.
