Yamanakako Hananomiyako Park is a great place to enjoy beautiful flowers and views of Mount Fuji. You can see vast fields of flowers changing colors with the seasons, with Mount Fuji in the distance. The whole scene is very beautiful. The park grounds are well maintained, and walking among the flower fields feels relaxing and pleasant. It’s also a nice place to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the scenery. On the road outside the park, you can take photos of the road stretching toward Mount Fuji at the end. Everyone can’t help but stop to take pictures, and the local residents driving by are probably used to tourists doing this by now (lol)! I really can’t help but envy the residents who get to drive this road to work every day!
Before visiting, I recommend checking which seasonal flowers are in bloom and whether the park is open. The park will close if there is a typhoon. If the weather is clear, you may also get a chance to photograph the flower fields and Mount Fuji together. The park is fairly large, so allow one to two hours to explore at a leisurely pace. Comfortable walking shoes are also recommended so you can easily enjoy this trip filled with fragrant flowers and beautiful scenery.

Lake Kawaguchi is probably one of those places everyone should visit! What I looked forward to most was enjoying the beautiful views of Mount Fuji. When the weather is good, Mount Fuji is reflected on the lake, surrounded by mountains, forests, and shimmering water. The scene is so beautiful that you can’t help but pick up your camera and keep taking pictures. Walking along the lakeshore, you can enjoy a leisurely and pleasant atmosphere. Compared with the busy streets of central Tokyo, it feels much more peaceful and relaxing. If you have enough time, you can also take a sightseeing boat or the ropeway to see Mount Fuji from different angles and enjoy a different view.
I recommend setting aside half a day to a full day to explore Lake Kawaguchi without packing your itinerary too tightly. Views of Mount Fuji depend heavily on the weather, so check the forecast before setting out. Mornings are usually also a good time for viewing. Some attractions around the lake are a fair distance apart, so plan your bus route or check the schedule in advance to save travel time. Dress warmly if you visit in winter, and bring a jacket in other seasons as well. If you want clear photos of Mount Fuji, it’s best to leave some flexibility in your schedule so you can fully enjoy the beautiful scenery when the weather is good.

Taking the Mt. Omuro chairlift was a very special experience on this trip. As the chairlift takes you up to the summit, you can enjoy the green grass covering the slopes and the surrounding natural scenery. I heard that you can see Mt. Fuji when the weather is good, but unfortunately, the weather was bad during this visit, and Mt. Fuji was hidden behind the clouds. I guess leaving with a small regret is also a good excuse to come back someday!

The most memorable part of Hakone Shrine is the approach surrounded by towering cedar trees. The entire path has a peaceful, solemn atmosphere, as if you’ve stepped into a forest far removed from the hustle and bustle. Hakone Shrine was founded during the Nara period and is a well-known local shrine, as well as a popular stop for many travelers visiting Hakone.

As you slowly make your way up the stone steps, you can sense the rich history all around you. The ancient trees and traditional Japanese architecture complement each other, making you want to stop and take it all in. One of the most popular sights is the Peace Torii by Lake Ashi. The red torii stands at the edge of the lake, surrounded by beautiful views of the water and mountains, and is also a popular spot for taking photos.

Although there were quite a few worshippers, the overall setting still felt peaceful. There’s no need to plan any special activities while walking around the shrine. Just slow down and take in the atmosphere created by the forest, lake, and shrine, and you can enjoy a relaxing time. This visit to Hakone Shrine not only gave me a chance to appreciate the distinctive features of a traditional Japanese shrine, but also left me with wonderful memories filled with nature and culture.

As you step onto Japan's longest pedestrian suspension bridge, Mishima Skywalk, you're greeted by breathtaking, unobstructed views in every direction. Walking across the 400-meter-long bridge, the gentle breeze brings a slightly thrilling swaying sensation. But when you look out at majestic Mt. Fuji and the blue waters of Suruga Bay, you instantly forget your fear and are left feeling deeply moved.
You definitely can't miss the extremely popular sky-blue soft serve (そらソフト)! Inspired by clear skies and seas of clouds, this soft serve has a dreamy “sky blue” appearance. Although it looks like it might be mint or some other unusual flavor, it's actually made with high-quality milk from farms at the foot of Mt. Fuji. It has a rich, fragrant milky flavor, a smooth texture, and a refreshing finish. With one bite, the rich milkiness and refreshing flavor blend together in your mouth, making it cool and delicious without feeling heavy. Not only is it tasty, but it's also the perfect photo prop for pictures with the magnificent suspension bridge and Mt. Fuji.
With mountains, water, and delicious food, this is definitely a wonderful place where you can completely relax both body and mind.

Starting from Kamakura Station, Komachi Street is lined with shops that are fun to browse, including unique souvenirs, inviting little stores, all kinds of snacks and desserts, and even a super cute Mameshiba Cafe! You can hardly walk a few steps without wanting to stop and take a look.

What I liked most was being able to browse and eat along the way. Whenever something caught my interest, I could just buy it and give it a try. There’s no need to plan a specific route—wandering around casually actually makes the trip more enjoyable. Although there are quite a few tourists and it can get a little crowded at times, the lively atmosphere also makes it really feel like you’re on vacation.

Komachi Street is best enjoyed at a slower pace, without rushing from one attraction to another. Stop and browse whenever you see something you like, buy a few souvenirs, have some snacks, and then slowly walk back to the station. This kind of leisurely itinerary felt very relaxing and became one of my favorite memories from my trip to Kamakura.

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu is almost a must-visit when traveling to Kamakura. There are many shops along the walk from Kamakura Station, and you can already feel the strong atmosphere of the ancient capital before even reaching the shrine. Once you enter the approach, the view suddenly opens up. The greenery on both sides and the stately buildings make you slow down without even realizing it.

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu is deeply connected to Kamakura’s history and is an important symbol of samurai culture from the Kamakura period. Looking up from the bottom of the large stone steps leading to the main shrine, the whole scene is very impressive. The entire setting feels peaceful and pleasant. As you slowly walk around the grounds, you can also see places such as the Genpei Ponds and Maiden dance stage, and every corner is great for photos.

What I find most special about Tsurugaoka Hachimangu is that it’s not just about “seeing a shrine”—you can truly feel the history of the city of Kamakura. As you walk around, you can’t help imagining how this was once an important place for samurai activities hundreds of years ago. After visiting, heading back into the streets of Kamakura to eat and browse the small shops makes the whole trip even more enjoyable.

If you like Japan’s ancient capitals, historic architecture, or simply want a place where you can take a leisurely stroll, I highly recommend adding Tsurugaoka Hachimangu to your Kamakura itinerary. Rather than quickly taking photos and leaving, I prefer slowing down and walking around to experience the connection between this ancient shrine and the city of Kamakura.

When visiting Yokohama, you absolutely can’t miss the historic Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse! These two red brick buildings retain the style of the Meiji and Taisho eras. Their charming vintage exteriors make every photo look like a postcard filled with European romance.
Step inside the warehouses, and there’s even more to discover. They’re filled with creative goods, local souvenirs, and unique restaurants, including Kiyoken’s exclusive must-buy “Red Brick Shumai” and extremely popular brunch pancakes. It’s a great place to shop and eat. Beyond the shops, there’s a spacious waterfront park right outside. When you get tired of browsing, you can sit on the grass, enjoy the sea breeze, take a walk, and gaze out at beautiful Yokohama Port and the large cruise ships. It feels incredibly relaxing.
I especially recommend visiting in the evening. When the warm orange lights illuminate the red brick walls against the enchanting nighttime scenery of the Minato Mirai area, the atmosphere instantly becomes incredibly romantic. It’s an excellent place for a date or simply to unwind! Whether you want to experience its rich history, enjoy good food, or admire the unbeatable ocean views, this is a place you won’t want to leave.

The first thing I noticed when I arrived at Minato Mirai 21 in Yokohama was how relaxed and spacious it felt compared with Tokyo. It perfectly blends modern skyscrapers with charming harbor scenery. During the day, I strolled along the waterfront in the gentle breeze, watching the boats come and go, and naturally found myself slowing down. Along the way, I visited the artistic Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and rode the modern YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN and the classic Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris wheel. The view of the harbor from above was refreshing and uplifting.
What impressed me most was the scenery at sunset and at night. As the setting sun turned the sky orange-red and the city lights gradually came on, the huge Ferris wheel and Yokohama Landmark Tower were reflected on the calm water, sending the romance level instantly off the charts. Whether enjoying food and shopping at the malls or simply sitting by the harbor in the sea breeze, everything felt relaxing and restorative.
The attractions here are close together and offer a wide variety of experiences. It's not only ideal for couples, but also great for families with children or groups of friends. I highly recommend setting aside a full day and exploring on foot and by train to fully appreciate the stylish, romantic, and ever-changing charm of this port city!

AEON MALL Okinawa Rycom was even bigger than I expected, and it’s really easy to spend several hours there without realizing it. There are lots of stores selling clothes, shoes, cosmetics and pharmacy items, and household goods, so you can keep browsing and shopping as you go. The supermarket is also fun to explore, with Okinawa-exclusive snacks, instant noodles, and souvenirs. Some items are even cheaper than in tourist areas. When you get tired, you can find a restaurant, grab something to eat, take a break, and then continue browsing and shopping. Being able to take my time choosing things without rushing to the next stop was actually what left the strongest impression on me about Rycom. Don’t forget to stop by the information center as soon as you arrive to pick up coupons specifically for international visitors!
