Sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate and the lake gets covered in clouds and mist, but honestly, that gives it a dreamy, mysterious vibe.

Miki Service Area
A large service area on the Sanyo Expressway with a wide range of facilities, including restaurants, a convenience store, cafés, and a bakery. Both sides of Miki Service Area feature dining options, shopping areas, dog parks, and more, making it a convenient stop for meals, shopping, and rest breaks.
What impressed me most was actually the Starbucks. The whole store has a simple, tasteful design, with large glass windows that let in plenty of natural light, and there’s also outdoor seating where you can relax. Although the coffee tastes about the same as at any other Starbucks, finding such a comfortable place to sit down and take a break during a long drive really makes you appreciate how thoughtfully planned Japan’s expressway service areas are.

Araya Yama Jinja
Araya Yama Shrine has been revered as god of the mountains and industry, which was built in 1534. At the foot of Mt. Fuji, the main hall and the rear hall stand. People tell business owners and entrepreneurs, ”If you don’t want to have trouble with money, visit this shrine.” It is a popular power spot as one of the three shrines for blessings of wealth.
Praying for good fortune is definitely the main thing here. I hope I can bring some luck home with me!

Old YAMU House Karahori Store
The flagship store of a medicinal curry chain with seven locations across Osaka and Tokyo, situated in the nostalgic "Karahori Shopping Street." The restaurant is housed in a renovated building over 130 years old, where you can enjoy the aroma of spices in a retro atmosphere.
Their curry is packed with spices—you can tell right away it's not your average seasoning.
