Make your way here for an impeccable panorama of the Kanto Plain, and even the elegant peaks of the Yamizo Mountains far off on clear days. The evening hours are a perfect chance to bring someone special, as the observatory takes on a romantic air thanks to stunning night views and glittering city lights below.
Standing up high and looking out over all of Nasu Highland, it really looks like a giant green carpet spread out below you.

World Heritage Site Kasuga Taisha / Kasuga Wakamiya On-Matsuri
The Kasuga Wakamiya On-Matsuri is held at Wakamiya Shrine, an auxiliary shrine of Kasuga Taisha. This grand festival has long been celebrated to pray for abundant harvests and peace and well-being for all. Today, its rituals begin in July, with the main ceremonies taking place from December 15 to 18.
There are lots of food stalls around the shrine selling festival-only treats. Watching the festivities while snacking is just so much fun.

Ouchi-juku
More than 30 thatched-roof homes stand in Ouchi-juku, where the townscape still reflects the Edo-Period. It used to prosper as a post station along the former Aizu West Highway 400 years ago.
