The tickets are too expensive, and the performances were dull and boring.

Mankusen Shrine
In the month of Kamiari-zuki (October on the lunar calendar), the gods from all over Japan gather in Izumo. It is said that the last stop for the gods visiting Izumo is the Mankusen Shrine. Officially called "Makuse-No-Yashiro," it is said that the gods hold a meeting here before departing for their respective lands.
The shrine priest here is really funny and charming. Thanks to his lively and engaging explanations, I learned a lot more about the Izumo area and Japanese mythology.

CUPNOODLES MUSEUM YOKOHAMA
Through the museum’s many exhibits you can learn about the creative thinking of Momofuku Ando, the founder of Nissin Food products, and inventor of Chicken Ramen, the world’s first instant noodles.
There were way too many people inside the museum. Staff had to use megaphones just to talk. It was super noisy and chaotic, which really ruined the mood of my visit.

Mt. Yoshino
Mt. Yoshino is acclaimed as the best spot to see cherry blossoms in all of Japan. In the spring, the entire mountain is washed with flowering trees as they bloom from the Shimosenbon (the lower 1,000 trees) at the foothills up to the Okusembon (the inner 1,000 trees).
You don't have to visit only during cherry blossom season—there are just too many tourists then. You can see different kinds of flowers at other times, and there’s also great food to try.
