Kumejima Tsumugi no Sato Yuimaru-kan
Kumejima Tsumugi no Sato Yuimaru-kan is a traditional craft center located in Kumejima, Okinawa. The facility showcases the history and production process of Kumejima Tsumugi, a silk textile designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan in 2004. Today the site remains a celebrated hub for preserving and passing down Kumejima’s traditional weaving techniques.
It mainly introduces the history of Kumejima Tsumugi and how it’s made. You can see the actual fabric, plus dyeing and weaving demonstrations.
The quality is seriously impressive—you can tell right away this is a labor-intensive traditional craft.
The space isn’t big, but the exhibits are well put together. It’s not the kind of place where you just breeze through. -
Kobe Kitano Ijinkan (Former Foreign Residences)
When the port of Kobe opened in 1868, the "Kobe Kitano Ijin-gai (foreign city)" developed as a land of foreign settlement. Located on a hill overlooking the ocean, the town has a unique mix of Western and Japanese style buildings. About 30 Western-style buildings have been preserved in their original state, and 16 are open to the public.
Full of exotic vibes, perfect for taking photos!

Nakatsugawa Valley
Nakatsugawa Valley is located along the upper reaches of the Nakatsugawa River, which originates from Mount Azuma and flows into Lake Akimoto. Stretching about 10 kilometers, a look out over the valley reveals waterfalls, rapids, steep cliffs and amazingly start contrasts of eroded rocks against crystal-clear flowing waters. Its lush, damp-looking primeval forests further enhance the area's secluded, mystical charm.
The moment you step into the valley, you're surrounded by greenery. The air is super fresh and it just feels so relaxing~
