A solemn and peaceful shrine. On weekends, lots of people come here to sketch, and their drawings really bring the shrine to life. There are many tall sacred trees, so even at noon with the sun out, it's nice and cool in the shade. Plus, there's free parking!

Ichi-no-miya in Sagami Province, Samukawa-jinja Shrine
This shrine is famous as a guardian deity of Happo-yoke.
Long revered as a protective deity of the Kanto region, the shrine is known for enshrining the guardian deity of Happo-yoke, which removes all calamities derived from directions and dates, and brings fortune and good luck.
It has received fervent faith from warriors of old times, including Minamoto no Yoritomo.
In the back of the main shrine, there is Kantakeyama Shinen, a garden that can only be entered by those who have received prayers. In the strolling pond garden, a museum and a teahouse are also provided where you can enjoy matcha and other items along with the natural scenery of the four seasons.
On New Year's Day, "Aomori Nebuta Decorations" are adorned on the shrine gate, and are lit up at night. "Hachifuku Mochi", named after Happo-yoke, is only sold at Samukawa Shrine and is popular as a souvenir.
