Tokyo German Village
With a size 19 times that of Tokyo Dome, enjoy various activities in the midst of nature.
Opened in 2001 in Sodegaura City, Chiba Prefecture, this theme park was designed to resemble the rural landscape of Germany. The park, which is about 19 times the size of Tokyo Dome, is divided into four areas based on the concept of "a place where nature and people can coexist": Lake Area, Country Area, Market Area, and Park Area. You can drive right into the park, which is very convenient given the vastness of the grounds.
There are attractions that everyone from small children to adults can enjoy, such as a petting zoo, fruit and vegetable harvesting experiences like mandarins, potatoes, and peanuts, and even putt-putt golf on the expansive lawn. There are also flower fields scattered throughout the park, such as a rose garden, a European garden, and a color hill, where a variety of flowers such as roses, moss phlox, baby blue eyes, poppies, lilies, cockscomb, and hydrangeas bloom throughout the seasons.
In winter, the park is also famous as an illumination spot and has been selected as one of the "Three Major Illuminations of Kanto". Every year, the illumination, which has a different theme each year, adds a fantastical touch to the park and enchants the visitors.
