It used to be a lodging town、Omiya-juku along Nakasendo Road. Today, 12 railroads, such as Tohoku Shinkansen and Joetsu Shinkansen, merge at the “Northern Front Gate,” Omiya Station. Over 500,000 people pass here every day.

Around this station, Arche Omiya, Lumine Omiya, Sogo Omiya store, Omiya Takashimaya, Omiya Marui, Ecute Omiya, Omiya Rakuun, and other large shopping centers cluster. Around the west exit, the town was redeveloped followed by fashionable stores. If you like to shop, this is the place to help you find your favorites.

Stepping out of the east exit, you will see arcades filled with shops. Around “Nangin,” there are bars with a long history. Meander and stop by at different bars in this modern and traditional town.
