Tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood, this standalone restaurant sits on the grounds of a historic chapel, as its name “eglise,” French for church, suggests. It has the atmosphere of a villa in the forest.

The culinary concept is authentic French cuisine inspired by “wakon yosai,” or Japanese spirit with Western techniques, designed to appeal to Japanese tastes as well. The restaurant carefully selects reliable ingredients whose producers are known, including fresh local vegetables, domestic beef, and seafood delivered directly from fishing ports, and serves gentle-on-the-body course meals with less butter and fresh cream.

Each beautifully presented dish is a standout creation by Executive Chef Yuichiro Kojima, whose career spans many renowned restaurants. His delicate yet dynamic sensibility shines through, and the simple, pure flavors are loved by guests of all ages.
