Higashi-matsuyama Peony Garden

Higashimatsuyama’s city flower is peony. To promote this flower, a park was created. From early to late April, 150 species and 6500 plants of peonies bloom one after another, filling the whole park with sweet aroma.

At the peak of the season, Peony Festival is held, attracting many visitors. Make sure to go to the observation platform at the center of the park. It will feel like each and every flower is opened to you and blessing you.

There are also Chinese peony in spring, hydrangea in summer, October cherry and Japanese maple in fall, as well as wintersweet in winter. The park hosts many plants with different blooming seasons for flower lovers and photographers.

The spacious park offers a playground, a lawn plaza, a wooden deck and Azumaya of a rest area in the shade. Spend a pleasant day with friends and family. There are ice cream/drink vending machines but no food stand. Bringing your own lunch is recommended.
