Fukazawa Zeniarai Benten Shrine（Fukazawa Zeniarai Benzaiten）

Fukazawa Zeniarai Benten Shrine is enshrined at the end of the inbound platform of Hakone Tozan Railroad’s Tonosawa Station. A businessman who was often staying at Tonosawa Hot Spring once had a dream of a white snake. He built a small shrine here to enshrine it in 1926 where the clear Fukazawa stream was drawn in.

The white snake is believed to be a messenger from Benzaiten and grants wealth. Businessmen and merchants believe washing money with the water in the shrine ground (Benten Yusui) will bring luck and help multiply the money. On the premises, there are wooden scoops and a colander, try washing your money and pray for your luck in money.

On the shrine ground, there is a small main hall, a mid hall, a rear hall in a cave, a stone frog statue and a dragon, surrounded by beautiful nature. It is a power-spot of nature’s energy with birds’ chirping and the mountain stream’s murmuring sound.

While the train is resting at the platform, travelers love to take photos with the train and the shrine gate in the background. On May 11 each year, a festival is held and Shinoya store by the train station sells Daruma dolls and talismans.
