Roadside stations throughout Japan are popular as places to rest from driving and purchasing local products and souvenirs. Utsunomiya Romantic Village is not only a regular roadside station but also a farm park where you can enjoy a farming experience, playing in the forest, a dog park, a hot spring, a swimming pool, and accommodation facilities!
This vast 46-hectare site is divided into three areas.
The first part is the "Village Area." The "Aozora-kan" sells locally grown agricultural products and souvenirs. The restaurant serves food made with local ingredients and original local beer made with Utsunomiya's two-row barley. The glass-walled "Rose Hut" is used as a multipurpose hall for various events, and the "Villa de Agri” has 10 rooms for overnight stays.
In the “Forest Area,” there is a walking path where you can enjoy the seasonal scenery of wildflowers, deciduous and broad-leaved forests. Their outdoor park has ziplines, monkey bars, and swings for children to enjoy. The "Rural Area" is a play and learning space with seasonal flower gardens, a hands-on farm, and a vast plaza with a dog run.
Many events are also held throughout the year, making this a great place to enjoy an array of activities.
