Kama-Asa Shoten

Discover high-quality tools that will last a lifetime.

Last update :

Founded in 1908 (Meiji 41), Kama-Asa Shoten is a specialty store for cooking tools. With the concept of "Good tools have good reason," the store selects "ryori dougu" (quality cooking tools) passed down by artisans from all over Japan. Dedicated to enriching Japan’s food culture through exceptional tools, they opened their first overseas branch in Paris, France, in the spring of 2018.

The store offers more than just practical kitchen tools; it carries exceptional items cherished by professional chefs for years. These include iron frying pans, finely sharpened knives, hand-hammered yukihira pots, and sturdy Nambu cast ironware. Truly high-quality cooking tools not only enhance the flavor of dishes but also withstand the demands of a professional kitchen.

Knives are particularly popular, sourced from regions renowned for their craftsmanship, such as Osaka's Sakai (famous for traditional Japanese knives), Seki City in Gifu Prefecture (the largest producer of blades in Japan), and Niigata Prefecture (known for stainless steel products). Customers can handle and compare the different knives in-store to find the perfect, lifelong companion.
