Ashigezaki Observation Deck

Located on a cape in front of the Samekado Lighthouse, this observation deck offers expansive views of the Pacific Ocean. Jutting out from the sheer cliff, the observation deck provides unobstructed vistas of the endless coastline of the Pacific Ocean.

Surrounding the observation deck, seasonal seaside and alpine plants flourish, offering a delightful display of blossoms throughout the year. A well-maintained promenade allows visitors to enjoy a stroll while admiring the breathtaking ocean views. The soft-serve ice cream sold at the nearby shop is also quite popular. Moreover, the observation deck serves as the starting point of the Tanesashi Coast Promenade, which extends to the Tanesashi Natural Turf Grounds.

Along the approximately 5.2-kilometer promenade, visitors can explore various attractions such as Nakasuka, where around 600 to 650 species of wildflowers bloom, the picturesque Osuka Beach with its white sandy shores, and Yodono Matsubara, a pine forest boasting trees over 100 years old, along with peculiar rocks and boulders of various sizes. After enjoying the panoramic views from the observation deck, it's recommended to continue trekking along the promenade.
