You-City Kamata is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from JR Kamata Station. It’s a hot spring complex you can easily visit in 30 minutes even from central Tokyo.

The “Kuroyu Onsen” (Black Hot Spring), pumped up from 120 meters underground, is a dark brownish-black color just as its name suggests. This rare hot spring water, known as “fossil water” and derived from ancient seawater, contains plenty of seaweed-based minerals and is said to offer skin-beautifying benefits and heat-retention effects.

In addition to the Kuroyu Onsen, the bathing area offers six types of baths, including a large communal bath, cold bath, jacuzzi, and sauna. Paid amenities like rental towels and soap are also available, so you can drop by empty-handed and casually experience Japan’s bath culture.

After you’ve freshened up, take a break in the “YCK Hall.” You can also eat and drink here, making it a relaxing time that satisfies you from the inside out. There’s also a stage in the hall, with events featuring singers and comedians held regularly. You can even enjoy Japanese popular theater.

Open until 12:00am with affordable prices, it’s a spot where you can relax both body and mind while enjoying Japan’s traditional bathing culture.
