Asakusa Imahan Kokusai Street Head Restaurant
Prime plates of Japanese Black Wagyu beef.
Established in 1895, this veteran restaurant keeps fans from Japan and abroad for over 130 years.
The signature sukiyaki is an impeccable order of select, female Japanese Black Wagyu beef from across the country, handpicked by expert buyers. As an officially designated Kobe beef restaurant, it sources Kobe beef exclusively from two contracted farms in Hyogo Prefecture. They also pay close attention to the vegetables essential for sukiyaki, selecting premium Senju leeks, renowned as the “king of leeks,” and thick, aromatic shiitake mushrooms that perfectly complement the flavorful broth.
The menu also offers a wide variety of dishes. Lunchtime specials include limited servings (only 20 portions each) of "Hundred-Year Gyudon”, "Meiji-Style Sukiyaki Rice Bowl”, and "Steak Rice Bowl”. The dinner menu boasts exquisite set meals and kaiseki courses featuring premium marbled beef, brand-name beef, and specially selected beef tenderloin. Don't miss the special "Three-Kinds Sukiyaki/Shabu-Shabu Set," allowing you to compare the flavors of three premium Wagyu varieties.
The restaurant interior is a calm and elegant space with traditional Japanese ambiance, offering tables, raised tatami seating, and private rooms to suit various dining occasions.
