Morita Souvenirs and Dining

Located on the shores of Lake Towada, in front of the torii gate of Towada Shrine, Morita Souvenirs and Dining is a long-established restaurant with a souvenir shop founded in 1931. Its meals and souvenirs feature ingredients from Lake Towada, especially kokanee salmon and smelt. Small side dishes served with set meals, made with local bamboo shoots, butterbur, and wild mountain vegetables, are also popular.

The dining area offers a menu centered on tendon rice bowls and set meals featuring kokanee salmon and smelt. It also serves Towada Barayaki Set Meal, a local specialty that originated in Towada City. You can also enjoy dishes such as dried sardine ramen and Towada Garlic Pork Curry.

The restaurant is often full around lunchtime, so groups should keep that in mind when visiting. The adjacent shop carries souvenirs inspired by Lake Towada and Oirase Gorge, as well as locally made processed foods. Close to the gateway to Lake Towada, it is an easy place to stop by between walks and sightseeing.
