A hot spring inn where you can enjoy Tsunagi Onsen, known for its skin-beautifying waters.

This hot spring inn is located in Tsunagi Onsen, a historic retreat in Morioka, Iwate, with roots dating back to the late Heian period (794-1185). Its purely Japanese-style setting and lobby with large windows framing seasonal views create a deeply relaxing stay.

The hot spring water is a simple sulfur spring containing alkaline properties that leave the skin feeling smooth, natural moisturizing metasilicic acid, and sulfur that promotes melanin turnover, which is why it is known as a skin-beautifying bath. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the rustic open-air bath surrounded by seasonal scenery, or in the large public bath overlooking the inner garden.

There are 22 guest rooms in total, with a range of options from compact 8-tatami rooms to Japanese-Western style rooms with Simmons beds and rooms with private open-air baths fed directly by the hot spring source. You can choose the room that best suits your group size and travel style.

The cuisine is another highlight, made with carefully selected ingredients from across Japan, including seafood from Sanriku, mountain produce from Michinoku, Iwate-grown Hitomebore rice, Makurazaki honbushi bonito flakes, thick-cut soda bonito flakes, and kelp from Sanriku for the broth. Be sure to savor dishes that make the most of seasonal ingredients.

With a full range of amenities for children, it is also a great choice for families.
