Local Cuisine Restaurant (Yamaguchi Prefecture)

Local Cuisine Restaurant is in Suo-Oshima Town, Oshima District, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is attached to the second floor of the roadside station Southern Seto Towa along the coast of Suo-Oshima, an island in the Seto Inland Sea. You can take in panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea while dining.

The menu centers on set meals made with fresh fish caught in the Seto Inland Sea. One of the most popular dishes is the limited-quantity Small Sardine Set Meal. You can enjoy fresh small sardines landed that morning as sashimi and tempura (it may not be available depending on the catch). Another specialty is the winter-only Mikan Hot Pot Set Meal. This hot pot is made with fish balls containing whole mikan, peel and all, simmered with seafood and vegetables. Add rice at the end to enjoy zosui rice porridge with a refreshing mikan flavor.

The restaurant has 40 seats, with both table seating and tatami seating. It is located on the second floor of the roadside station Southern Seto Towa. Local specialties and souvenirs from Suo-Oshima are also sold here. Bicycle rentals are available too, so you can enjoy cycling as well.
