Akagi Nyugyo Honjo Senbon Sakura “5S” Factory

One of Japan’s largest ice cream production bases, this facility has a maximum annual production capacity of 80,000 kiloliters. The “5S” in the factory name stands for seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, and shitsuke, symbolizing its thorough hygiene and quality control.
The highlight of this factory is its reservation-only tour. In the Approx. 90-minute program, visitors first learn about the company and factory through video, then observe the sterilization room, aging room, ice shaving room, and the production lines for ice cream products including GariGarikun through viewing windows. Watching the actual ice cream-making process up close is an experience that both children and adults can enjoy.
At the end of the tour, commemorative stamps, omikuji fortune slips, photo opportunities, and ice cream samples await at “GariGarikunPlaza.” Participants also receive original souvenirs, with plenty of touches that will delight fans. The exterior is decorated with giant illustrations and objects of GariGarikun, creating an exciting atmosphere throughout the visit.
