Naruto Park Senjojiki Observation Deck
A spectacular viewpoint overlooking the Naruto Strait and the Onaruto Bridge.
The Naruto Strait lies between Tokushima Prefecture and Awaji Island and is known for the Naruto whirlpools. On the Tokushima side facing the strait, Naruto Park was beloved by ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Hiroshige and offers scenery recognized by the nation for its viewing value. This dynamic natural work of art is known as Scenic Naruto.
The park is well equipped with souvenir shops and restaurants, and as a popular stop for tourists, it features 34 observation decks where visitors can enjoy different views from each spot. Among them, Senjojiki Observation Deck is the best place to take in the spectacular scenery of the strait right before your eyes. The Onaruto Bridge seen up close is striking, with the beautiful arch unique to a suspension bridge, and its scale is sure to impress. Nearby attractions include Uzu no Michi, the Onaruto Bridge promenade over the sea where you can look down at the whirlpools through a glass floor, and the Onaruto Bridge Memorial Museum Eddy, which introduces the whirlpools and the Onaruto Bridge.
Access from Naruto Station takes Approx. 30 minutes by bus. Renting a bicycle through Naruto City's rental cycle service and enjoying a ride while stopping by spots along the way is also recommended.
