From this observatory along National Route 319, you can enjoy sweeping views of central Shikoku City and the Seto Inland Sea at the same time.
It is also known for its beautiful night views across a 180-degree panorama, with sparkling city lights below and futuristic-looking paper mills stretching to the east, creating a spectacular scene.

Its dynamic night view was selected for the "100 Best Night Views in Japan" in 2004 by the nonprofit New Japan Top Three Night Views and 100 Night Views Office, and in 2010 it was also recognized as a "Japan Night View Heritage Site" by the Night View Tourism Convention Bureau.

On July 1, 2012, it was also named a "Lovers' Sanctuary" as a romantic place ideal for proposals. Many couples visit, and it has become increasingly popular as a date spot. The orange observatory has a retro look that remains unchanged from 50 years ago, and at night it is illuminated in orange.
