Kyusendo Cave
A mysterious world carved by the earth, where beauty lives in silence.
Approx. 5,000 m in total length, this is one of the largest limestone caves on the main island of Kyushu, located in the nature-rich mountains of southern Kumamoto Prefecture.
Step inside the cave and a quiet, otherworldly space unfolds, along with cool air. The mysterious formations created by stalactites hanging from the ceiling and stalagmites rising from the ground are truly works of art shaped by nature.
There are two loop options: the General Course, where visitors can take their time along a maintained route for Approx. 30 minutes, and the Exploration Course, where visitors wear boots & helmets and descend to 200 m underground. Both are easy sightseeing programs, but comfortable shoes and clothing that allows easy movement are recommended.
After taking in the charm of this limestone cave shaped over eons, stop by the adjacent Mori no Kobo, home to a specialty bread and honey shop, a cafe serving original drinks and food, and a Montbell outdoor brand shop.
