Tojinbo Mikuni Onsen Ootoku

This culinary inn is located in Ajima, Mikuni-cho, overlooking the scenic Tojinbo Cliffs and Oshima Island. In this peaceful setting facing the Sea of Japan, guests can unwind in the waters of Tojinbo Mikuni Onsen and savor seasonal flavors from Fukui. Just a 5-minute drive from Tojinbo, it is also a convenient base for sightseeing.

The main and new buildings have a total of 8 guest rooms, with a range of Japanese-style and Japanese-Western-style options measuring approximately 13 to 26 square meters. Accommodations include the special Japanese-Western-style Mokko no Ma room. Inspired by Ajima Mokko-zashi, a traditional form of local embroidery, this special room offers a relaxing, understated space furnished with Simmons beds.

The inn takes pride in its cuisine, prepared with generous portions of fresh seafood landed at Mikuni and Echizen ports. The owner-chef uses seasonal seafood such as Echizen crab, sweet shrimp, abalone, and locally caught fish to create dishes throughout the year. Another popular specialty is nikujaga, a meat-and-potato stew slowly simmered over many hours.

The large communal bath is supplied by Tojinbo Mikuni Onsen, whose water is rich in salt and minerals. Beyond the large windows are views of Oshima Island and the Sea of Japan, allowing guests to ease their travel fatigue while watching the scenery change with each passing moment.
