Kamuromi no Sato Anabara Onsen Takumi no Kokoro Yoshikawaya

This long-established ryokan was founded in 1841. It stands along the Surikami River in Anabara Onsen, near Iizaka Onsen, one of Fukushima’s leading hot spring resort areas. Its location offers views of the valley’s changing seasonal scenery, providing a relaxing stay surrounded by nature.

A wide variety of accommodations is available, including tranquil Japanese-style rooms, rooms with Japanese-style beds, rooms with open-air baths, special suites, and accessible Japanese-modern twin rooms. Many rooms have large windows overlooking spectacular views of Mount Katakura or peaceful satoyama countryside at sunset, allowing guests to relax while experiencing nature throughout the seasons.

The baths are supplied by the ryokan’s own hot spring source, which produces gentle, mildly alkaline simple spring water. Guests can soak in the spacious public baths, the two distinctive open-air baths, Kamoshika no Yu and Saruami no Yu, or the private bath Yuno - YUNO. Baby baths and shampoo hats are also available, making bathing easier for families with young children.

Dinner features kaiseki cuisine prepared with seasonal ingredients carefully selected from Fukushima Prefecture and elsewhere in the Tohoku region. Signature dishes include selections made with Fukushima beef and a medicinal soup featuring soft-shelled turtle and shark fin. House-made miso, shio-koji, and amazake create flavors distinctive to Yoshikawaya.

The ryokan also offers an extensive range of facilities, including a lounge with 4,000 manga volumes, a children’s area with bouldering, and a heated pool open for a limited season.
