When you’re in Marunouchi, Tokyo, don’t miss KITTE Marunouchi! Besides all the shops and restaurants, the most pleasant surprise is the view of Tokyo Station from the windows.

Looking out from the garden, the entire red-brick Tokyo Station comes into view. Set against the surrounding high-rises, the mix of traditional and modern architecture is truly beautiful.

Especially when looking down from the upper floors, you get a very different perspective of Tokyo Station, and the whole scene really has that Tokyo city feel. Seeing this view made the visit feel very worthwhile. The next time I come to Tokyo, I’d like to return and see how it looks at a different time of day!

If you're passing through Tokyo Station, you might want to stop by KITTE Marunouchi next door. This commercial complex has a very modern design and a good selection of souvenirs and restaurants. This time, I picked up the Jiichiro Baumkuchen recommended by a coworker. The many layers of cake are delicate and soft, with a moist, dense texture and subtle buttery and egg aromas. The sweetness is just right and not overpowering. You can taste the delicate layers in every bite, and it pairs well with coffee or tea.

The interior is super high quality and has that stylish 'Tokyo office worker' vibe. Tons of great-looking restaurants to choose from—it's honestly a hidden foodie paradise.

From the outdoor observation deck on the 6th floor, you get a clear view of the entire Tokyo Station.

This is a commercial complex where you can really feel both modern and contemporary Japanese culture. It's spacious, bright, and not too crowded, which I absolutely love! Just strolling around inside feels super comfortable. (*^_^*)
