All Reviews of Kabukiza Theatre

While passing through Ginza, I was first drawn to the Kabukiza Theatre’s distinctive exterior. Its traditional Japanese style creates an interesting contrast with the modern cityscape. This is not only a tourist attraction but also an important theater for the traditional Japanese art of kabuki, with performances still being held today. In addition to the theater, there are shops and dining areas inside that sell kabuki-related souvenirs.

The exterior features distinctive Momoyama-period architecture and is both magnificent and elegant, making it a striking landmark in Tokyo's Ginza district. The basement is directly connected to Higashi-ginza Station and features the lively Kobikicho Square. Even if you don't see a performance, you can shop here for all kinds of beautifully crafted kabuki merchandise and traditional Japanese souvenirs. I highly recommend stopping by to take photos and soak up the rich traditional Japanese atmosphere!

I realized a lot of people mix up Kabukicho and Kabukiza lol.

Honestly, I used to think they were the same place too.

But one is in Ginza and the other is in Shinjuku.

A lot of tourists take pictures with it, but I didn’t. I’m not brave enough haha.

I didn’t go inside because I was in a hurry to go shopping.

I sent a photo to my mom, and she said,

“Wasn’t I telling you not to go to places like that?”

Yeah... I knew she got them mixed up lol.

Hahahaha.

But I did go to Kabukiza two days later.

It’s a huge and really impressive place.

Does this even count as introducing a tourist spot?

It’s really just my own thoughts.

Just writing it down for the record. I already talk too much as it is.

Although some spots can’t be checked in,

otherwise I feel like I could easily write more than 50 posts a day.

The interior of the theater is absolutely beautiful, and even the restrooms are super fancy.

The exterior is stunning and full of Japanese character. Inside, the theater is beautifully decorated and has an elegant atmosphere. It really feels like stepping back in time.

Last year, I went to Ginza with a friend and decided to check out Kabuki for the first time. We got same-day tickets for the single-act seats. Even though we sat way in the back, the view of the stage was still clear. I didn't really understand the story, but the actors' performances were lively and fun, and their energy was contagious. The stage decorations were especially gorgeous and left a deep impression.
