Meguro itself is known as an upscale residential area in Tokyo, and the Meguro River is a must-visit spot for many people during cherry blossom season. Every spring, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the trees stretching along the riverbanks form a spectacular tunnel of flowers. Branches on both sides extend over the river and even intertwine, so when you look up, you are almost completely surrounded by blossoms. It is a sight you really have to see in person to appreciate. There are already plenty of visitors during the day, but after dark, the lights create a different kind of romantic atmosphere. There are also many vendors selling drinks and snacks along the way, making it even livelier than during the day. Over the past year or two, the cherry trees along the Meguro River have been heavily pruned, and their shape and blossoms are no longer what they once were. The sight of intertwined branches covered in full bloom still remains vivid in my memory, making me appreciate even more how precious it was to witness that magnificent scene in person.

As you slowly walk along the riverbank, the branches of the cherry trees on both sides stretch out over the water, with the blossoms forming a canopy overhead. When a gentle breeze blows, the petals softly drift down onto the river and walkway, making the entire scene romantic and dreamy.

Every cherry blossom season, this becomes a super popular spot for viewing the sakura.

During the Meguro River Cherry Blossom Festival, 800 cherry trees bloom all at once—it's absolutely beautiful and impressive. But the crowds are also huge! At night, the illuminated cherry blossoms are a whole different kind of gorgeous.

There are tons of cherry trees planted along the Meguro River. At the end of March, the cherry blossoms form a spectacular pink tunnel. The best way to enjoy the 4-kilometer stretch of blossoms is by taking a river cruise. At night, the crowds get bigger, and there are lots of food stalls along the way, so you won't go hungry. The nighttime cherry blossom lights are on until 9 p.m.

Both sides of the riverbank are covered with cherry blossoms. The pink and white flowers are especially beautiful.

I recommend coming on a weekday so it's not too crowded. After taking photos, you can relax at a nearby café.

If you want to see cherry blossoms, you definitely have to come here! I visited in March and the flowers were absolutely breathtaking!
