I’ve loved reading "Kochikame" ever since I was little, so actually visiting this place felt really special. Seeing the character statues and the police box here honestly makes you wonder whether Kankichi Ryotsu might really exist 😂

If you’re a Kochikame fan, I definitely recommend stopping by!

You can spot bronze statues of Kankichi Ryotsu all over the place, which makes walking around really fun and nostalgic.

The whole Kameari area has a very local, everyday feel. It’s not one of those places packed with tourists, so it’s easy to explore at a relaxed pace.

As soon as you get near Kameari Station, you’ll see a bunch of Kochikame (“Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo”) character statues.

If you’re a fan, you’ll definitely want to track them all down and take photos one by one.

Kameari Park is super famous and has two statues of Kankichi Ryotsu. One shows him making a peace sign, and the other is a life-size bronze statue on a bench, made to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Kochikame. Tons of people come here just to take photos with Ryo-san—I was one of them too! 😄
