This time, I visited ASTY Kyoto at Kyoto Station and found plenty of food and souvenir shops. It's a great place to browse before catching a train and pick up something tasty to take with you.

551 HORAI is a famous, long-established Osaka food brand, best known for its piping-hot pork buns! The plump white exterior looks so tempting, and when you bite into one, it's packed with meat filling. The pork and onions are savory, sweet, juicy, and full of flavor.

When you come to Kyoto Station, don’t forget to check out ASTY Kyoto~ It’s like a supply stop during your trip, with Starbucks, all kinds of Kyoto souvenirs, and popular foods. It’s a great place to buy all your souvenirs before boarding, then pick up some snacks to enjoy on the train. This time, I made a special point of buying Osaka’s famous “551 Horai pork buns.” The piping-hot buns gave off an enticing aroma. Compared with Taiwanese buns, the dough was soft and fluffy, and the filling tasted pretty good, but the overall texture was a little too soft and lacked the firmness I prefer. After trying them, I still prefer Taiwanese-style buns. Tasting local foods like this while traveling also makes for an interesting travel memory.

ASTY Kyoto is one of those places where you end up staying two extra hours, even if you were just passing through to transfer trains. 😆
