All Reviews of Fukuoka Art Museum

While in Fukuoka, I stopped by the Fukuoka Art Museum during a walk through Ohori Park. The museum is located inside the park and surrounded by greenery. The walk there through the park was very pleasant, and it felt quite different from a typical museum in the middle of the city.

The museum has a very rich collection, ranging from Japanese to Western art, and the exhibitions change over time. I took my time looking around this visit. Besides enjoying the artwork, I also really liked the museum's simple and comfortable overall design.

After visiting the museum, you can head straight out for a walk in Ohori Park. The lake, trees, and city scenery blend together, making it a very relaxing place for a stroll. If the weather happens to be nice, the entire park is truly beautiful.

Located in the lush greenery of Ohori Park, the Fukuoka Art Museum is a cultural space that brings nature and art together. The biggest eye-catcher is Yayoi Kusama’s yellow “Pumpkin” near the entrance. Its bold black dots make it look lively and cute, and it has become a popular photo spot for many visitors. The museum’s collection spans ancient Japanese art, East Asian art, and modern art, with everything from Buddhist statues and tea ceremony utensils to works by masters such as Dalí and Warhol. After seeing the exhibitions, you can also take a stroll through Ohori Park, making it a good half-day outing.

If you’re in Fukuoka, the art museum is a must-visit. There’s also a Starbucks nearby where you can sit, have a coffee, and enjoy the view.
